Liberty was bred by Helayne Zoota of Layney Labradors,
and during her youth co-owned with Randy Johnson of Rimrock Labradors.

Judging SJVLRC, "there emerged the most gorgeous bitch in the specials class. As I checked off the armbands she caught my eye and it just got better and better. She had great type, excellent coat,wonderful balance and structure, moved like a dream, had a classic bitch head, and I just couldn't take my eyes off of her. She was one of those ones that you see and say "That is my breed winner" before you even go over them. Getting my hands on her just confirmed what my eyes had seen from a distance. What a thrill to find her."

After winning Best of Breed at the SJVLC specialty one month shy of her 7th birthday, Liberty retired into the spoiled arms of our friend Lynn. Together they were constant companions, each giving the other the joy of their mutual love. Often we would see the pair on walks in our small town, Liberty filled with hugs in greeting, and then continued happily on her way. Through conversation we would hear of the wonderful Liberty from Lynn's family and friends. Liberty has now passed on. During her life she brought joy to so many. Her loving heart, kind soul, passion for retrieving, adoration of children, heart melting expression, and personable nature live as a shining beacon of a true Labrador Retriever!
